  2. Who gets to vote to "adopt" it?

1 comment:

  1. 1. The "town levy" is the amount of property tax that the town leverages against the property owners within the town.

    2. The "electors" or residents of the town who are 18 years old or older and have lived in the town for at least 10 days get to vote on the levy.

The town board then has to adopt a budget that fits within the expected revenue for the year which includes the town levy, funds on hand, shared resources from the state, fees, etc.

The electors don't get to vote on the budget, but they do get to discuss it in the public hearing and they do get to vote on the levy that the town board will have to work with for that budget.

Come to the meeting on Nov. 5 at the Cady Town Hall and participate in one of the few remaining remnantes of pure democracy left in this world.
